Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (GSLC) is seeking applicants for a full-time position with benefits, as the Director of Music & Worship to work closely with pastors, music & worship staff, and worship teams in the implementation of all facets of Music & Worship Ministry for GSLC. Collaborate with all ministry areas to engage music into all aspects of GSLC programming. Reports directly to the Senior Pastor of GSLC.

Primary Responsibilities
Music & Worship Ministry: Envision, and develop worship plans for all services according to the Christian liturgical calendar and themes which enable the community of faith gathered in worship to experience God’s presence and grace in their lives. Lead the technical and musical aspects of weekly and special worship events including weddings and funerals. Recruit, train, and continually coach music teams, technology team, choirs, and worship assistants as needed and in collaboration with pastors and congregation staff. Maintain worship ministry inventory and order supplies.
Technology: Coordinate the use of technology in all facets of worship. Produce weekly online services. Attend to regular maintenance and repair of musical instruments and audio/video systems. Work with pastors and congregation staff to develop new ways of utilizing technology in Music & Worship Ministries (i.e. on-line, video, worship blogs).
Administration: Coordinate all areas of organization in Music & Worship Ministries. Manage the music library and resources. Responsible for creation and production of weekly worship outlines and be knowledgeable about all processes of bulletin preparation and collaborate with administrative staff when needed. Collaborate with pastors and staff to communicate seasonal and weekly worship events. Attend weekly staff meetings.
Personal & Spiritual Growth: A growing relationship with God and God’s people Engage in the ministry of self–care through personal and spiritual growth. Nurture spiritual growth through prayer, worship opportunities, reading, attending educational conferences and other avenues in conversation with the Senior Pastor chosen to foster this growth.

A heart and desire to provide people with meaningful worship experiences. Support for the vision and mission of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Skills in organization, management, leadership, teamwork, and communication. Willingness to share personal musical talents in a variety of services and venues. Open to learning new facets of software, audio, and video technologies that are applicable to worship ministry. Appreciation of a wide variety of music forms and genres, from classical to rock. A grace-centered appreciation of the bible, Lutheran theology, and people.
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervises organists and audio video technology staff including supervisory of other worship staff and/or volunteers. Coordinates, recruits, and supports ministry and music volunteers.
Examples of Work Conditions
The Director of Music & Worship is a full-time position (36+ hours per week) with eligibility for benefits as outlined in the employee guide. An example of a typical work week: Monday 9 to 5, Tuesday 9 to 9, Wednesday 11 to 8, Thursday 9 to 12 with half Sabbath, Friday as Sabbath, Saturday 4 to 6 pm and Sunday 7 to 1. One hour lunch break on full days, plus work on evening and weekend as events and seasons require.
